Almanac Teams: A galaxy of Rising Stars

This week’s side is based on the Rising Star award which started in 1993 and has since 2007 been named the Ron Evans Medal. To be eligible for the award a player must be under 21 as of the first of January, have played fewer than ten games and not been suspended during the season. A suspended player can still be nominated, but cannot win. Sydney, Fremantle and Melbourne have had three winners while GWS and Footscray/the Western Bulldogs have never had a winner. I was originally going to have a team based on second placegetters but have put a team of winners in to compare. For seasons 1993 to 1995 the placegetters are not known.
