Almanac Swimming: Shark Bait Swimming in Australia
Over last summer, my good friend Tony Forbes was visited by his brother-in-law Stanley Ulijaszek from England.
Stanley is a keen open water swimmer, who swims year round, in all types of conditions, and worldwide. He sometimes swims in water less than 10 degrees celsius water temperature, which is extremely cold. Stanley also has a regular podcast recalling his swims. It is a fantastic podcast – you can listen to it Here.
While he was visiting Colac, Stanley came for a morning swim at the local pool with Tony and myself and recorded the following podcast with us directly after our swim. He was keen to discover our thoughts of our experiences competing in ocean swims.
Here is a link to a story I wrote about Stanley and the 65 swims he completed to celebrate his 65th birthday a few years back. He produced a book about these swims, and the stories also feature on his podcast.

Stanley’s book can be purchased Here.
