Almanac Community Responsibility: Victorian Veterans’ Needs Project
The Footy Almanac is pleased to help Dr Richard Evans spread awareness of a research project he is involved with in association with ACU and the RSL.
Richard’s words follow:
The project is called Victorian Veterans’ Needs.
I am researching:
- What do veterans and their families need, during and after the transition from military to civilian life?
- How can Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs, like the RSL and Legacy) best meet these needs?
We have a website, which has just gone live: victorianveteransneeds.com.au There is also a short description of the project attached below. Briefly, I am keen to speak to anyone who is:
- a veteran, or
- has a family member who is a veteran, or
- does work (volunteer or paid) in veteran welfare
Interviews are completely confidential, and I am happy to travel to meet people wherever is most convenient. I am especially keen to speak to people who are NOT already connected to the RSL or another major ESO.
If you could pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested, or just circulate with any community groups / sporting clubs / churches which you think might have some veterans involved, I would be really grateful.
Thanks,
Dr Richard Evans
