Almanac Soccer: Oh Zlatan

You may not know me as a Red Devil, but I guess you do now. I have been jealous of all my glory hunter friends who go for the top 6 in the world, and Adelaide United.

They have been winning the champions league and the La Liga and even the EPL. Yep, they switched to Leicester City. But me, and 2 other people are holding the FA cup in our hands. We achieved that by beating Crystal Palace in the final, their captain is Australian, that’s how bad they are, ( no offence Socceroos).

I wish Manchester United still had Vidic and Van Persie, but who needs them when you got Henrikh Mkhitaryan, World XI star Paul Pogba and Zlatan, Oh Zlatan.

The match starts off with Juan Mata, trying to  elevate his position and scoring a goal. De Gea is playing well in goalkeeper. I hope he doesn’t move. The skipper scores a goal. to give us a 2 goal advantage but Eric Bailey is playing an awesome game. Zlatan has been quite, he scores a long range goal no one cares about the Bournemouth goal, I am just happy that we are of to a good start, unlike Leicester and Arsenal.

I think that you will find it difficult to convince anyone even a few years older than yourself that supporting Man. Utd. is tough. I admire you for sticking with them in their first barren period in a long time. However their wealth translates to power in soccer world, a very uneven playing field.

I know that you aren’t being cynical, because your loyalty to Adelaide Crows has meant that you have coped with some serious sporting disappointments.

I like your writing which is impressive for one so young. Keep it up and continue to share your thoughts with we older (decrepit) Almanackers.

Good luck to United (,except against Sunderland and in the derby against City).
