Almanac Rugby League – An old rivalry resumes: Roosters v Rabbitohs

Day 2 of the revived NRL season features a clash between two of the oldest rivals in the history of the NSWRL/ARL, the Roosters and the Rabbitohs or, in their former guise, Eastern Suburbs and South Sydney.

And, as always, it should be a cracker! The Roosters, 0-2 so far, need to reassert themselves immediately before it starts to get dodgy; the Rabbitohs, 1-1, want to establish their credentials against a top-rated side. Up-and-coming master coach Trent Robinson v wily old fox Wayne Bennett. Sets it up beautifully.

What’s more, the clash provides us with the opportunity to share another piece of John Campbell’s artwork.

Bring it on!
