The month of May sees the release of the latest update of Almanacker Liam Hauser’s detailed history of the iconic rugby league State of Origin series. Since the first edition, State of Origin: 30 Years , appeared back in 2010, Liam’s insights and attention to detail in his coverage of ‘Origin’ have been second to none. In the acknowledgements section of his book The State of Origin Companion, prolific rugby league writer Alan Whiticker has described Liam as an authority on the topic.

With the 2025 Origin series due to kick off later this month, Liam’s updated edition provides rugby league enthusiasts with an ideal opportunity to re-live every match since 1980 and understand why the concept and its rich history have come to be seen as the pinnacle of the code in Australia.

Available at Dymocks and all good bookstores, online and direct from the publisher.
