Almanac Music: Song of the Seasons (Song Lyric)

The four seasons, by Hugh Ramsay, oil on panel, 1902. Art Gallery of South Australia. [Wikimedia Commons.]
II imagine the following lyric to be accompanied by ringing, resonant acoustic guitar, in a medium tempo, folky style.)
Song of the Seasons
1. Summer returns like a long-lost friend
It’s OK that we made mistakes
Because we learned from them in the end
2. Autumn came like a warm embrace
Because we let our feelings flow
And looked our fears right in the face
Chorus/Break;
And where do you go to my love when you’re gone?
Through endless forests do you roam?
Where do you go to my love, and what’s wrong?
Are you lost and far from home?
3. Winter returned like a lonely traveller
But we let him in
And warmed him by our fire
4. Spring rolled in like a river
And carried us along
Until at long, long last it is summer once again
