Almanac (Footy) Life: Old Dog to play his 700th game of footy
Congratulations to Matt Zurbo (Old Dog) who plays his 700th game of football on Saturday 5 August. Matt is a stalwart of the Footy Almanac community and one who absolutely epitomises the ethos of the group and all it stands for. He has been a regular contributor to the site over many years publishing nearly 400 stories about everything that is of interest to him from footy to the ferns in the Otways. From all at the Footy Almanac, congratulations on a wonderful footy career – good luck, go well, and go hard in your 700th game Matt.

On 5 August I play my 700th at the Irrewillipe Recreation Reserve when my beloved Otway Districts take on the Western Eagles. After, we will go back to the Gellibrand pub for a rocking band, the Monaros, to celebrate life, footy and raise the roof. All Knackers welcome! Of course.
