Almanac Footy Documentaries: ‘Carn the Chinese!’ @ MIFF 2026

Early this year, The Footy Almanac posted a piece about the upcoming footy documentary Carn the Chinese! produced and directed by Angela How.

Angela writes with good news that her short documentary CARN THE CHINESE! will be part of the Footy Shorts Program at MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) this year!

They are very fortunate and grateful to MIFF, VicScreen, and the AFL for the support of their film, and cannot wait to debut the film at the Festival in mid August.

It’s also a footy-specific program, so there are other footy stories in the program that will resonate withFooty Almanac readers. Here’s a link to the VicScreen release.

The film’s fundraising campaign (for impact and education screenings) is still running at Documentary Australia. All donations greater than $2 are tax deductible. It’s a worthy and easy way to spend supporters to donate their $ and get it back in their upcoming returns. A win-win, as they say.

Angela wishes to thank  again the Footy Almanac for our early support.
