Roo’s Flood Relief Fund

 

As you would be aware, the Corowa-Rutherglen FNC club rooms and facilities suffered severely at the hands of the destructive flood waters over the last few months. The water rose to a level that saw the clubrooms and facilities knee-deep in water for around two weeks. While we successfully saved a lot of our property by moving it to higher and safer levels, we couldn’t do anything to save the plaster walls, built-in cupboards, fixed items, and kitchen equipment. The final damage bill has come through at $220,000

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the flood and the resulting cleanup, many  members and supporters came out and offered help. At the time, the club didn’t know the extent of the damage, but  now have a clearer picture of the major repair job ahead of them. They have successfully received two grants of $5K and $10K, but  have a long way to go to get up and running for the 2023 season. As you can see from the images, they have plenty of work to do before they can use the rooms in their customary manner.

 

With this in mind, the club is reaching out to their amazing members, supporters, and sponsors to seek financial support in helping  to regroup and rebuild. They have set up a fundraising initiative via the Australian Sports Foundation and would like to ask everyone to dig deep and help  out financially to get the club back on their feet.
