Almanac Cricket – A view of Australia from fine leg: Match 4 – Rupertswood Cricket Club

“The Cricketer”
by Kate Birrell

Do you know why Rupertswood in Sunbury is the ‘Birthplace of the Ashes’?

Don’t worry if you don’t. Unfortunately, most cricket fans don’t know the fantastic story either.

I pulled on the creams for Match 4 of my ‘A view of Australia from fine leg’ adventure at this historic site on the weekend.

If you fancy a read about a day that had it all (TV Cameras, wickets, banter, bbqs and chats about mental health) please do so via the below link. Thanks again to the fabulous Almanac community for their ongoing support.
