Almanac Books: I’m looking for a copy of…

I’m looking for a particular book and I’m hoping that someone in the Almanac community might be able to help me find it.

Decades ago I read Mikhail Sholokhov’s And Quiet Flows the Don and its ‘sequel’ The Don Flows Home to the Sea. Now I want to read them again but they’re very hard to come by.

One of my neighbours acquired a copy of And Quiet Flows the Don late last year and has generously loaned it to me to read again. It’s next on my list.

But we’re having great difficulty finding a copy of The Don Flows Home to the Sea. It’s out of print and as rare as hen’s teeth. (And, yes, I have availed myself of the services of Almanac stalwart John Butler from ‘Everybody Knows Books’ in Ballarat and he is hunting for me.)

So if you or someone you know has a copy that you/they might be willing to part with, please let me know via the Comments section below.

Yours hopefully…
