Almanac Admin: No more Google ads

Hi Almanac readers and contributors,

Our IT guru, James Demetrie of Diskmandotnet, also our major sponsor, has just turned off Google ads. While the ads provided us with a modest amount of revenue, we felt the big pop-ups and embedded boxes were becoming too obtrusive and off-putting for regular readers and especially for new visitors to the Almanac site.

If a Google ad pops up when you open the Almanac site, please let us know by email.

And, while you’re here, if you have any IT needs, or website design or website hosting needs, James and Diskmandotnet are absolutely fantastic. They’ve supported us for well over a decade and have also set up and administered websites for a number of our members – like Kate Burke at ThinkAgri and Tim Robb and Jeremy Hall at QTRBCK.

Now, we just need to drum up a few more memberships to keep the editors in beer.

All the best,
JTH

    Thanks for addressing this JTH/James

Misnaming him as ‘Edmure’ was a nice touch, but I’ll miss the Temu ads.

A comments filter wouldn’t go astray either :)

  4. The difference already is like a breath of fresh air
