ATTENTION ADELAIDE ALMANACKERS
FOOTY SPECIAL, ASSH EVENT (What is ASSH?)
REGAL PARK MOTEL, 6.30pm, Wednesday, 5 August
Three authors will discuss their new books:
- James Coventry, Time and Space – a brilliant new book on a history of tactics of Australian footy from 1858 to the present. It is one of the most significant books on the game I have read.
- Michael Coligan’s, Norwood Men Who Served 1914-18 which I reviewed on FA
- Trevor Gyss, 1915: Football and the First World War – an excellent piece of new research on the SA game 100 years ago
I now have 30 acceptances for the meeting, need a minimum of 40, and have places for 60. Places will be filled as I receive confirmation of bookings.
Those attending should arrive for dinner at 6.30 with the meeting beginning at 8pm.
The venue is the Regal Park Motel at 44 Barton Terrace East, North Adelaide which offers easy parking, moderate cost for room hire and reasonably priced meals. Meals are around $20 and a booking does mean eating dinner. However, it is necessary to make an additional $10 charge on each person to cover that cost and I would ask that you pay me on the night.
Best regards
Bernard
