‘A present from grandpa’ by Tony Wilson

G’day Almanackers,

Great friend of the Almanac, Tony Wilson (amongst other things, author of 1989: The Great Grand Final – lunch/review HERE; and head of Speakola interviews/podcasts – Ronald Dale Barassi episode HERE) recently shared a heartwarming story of family and footy clubs via his new Substack newsletter: ‘Good One, Wilson!’

While Tony spent some time with Hawthorn FC, his dad Ray is a champion of the club and premiership winner…and proud grandfather.

Do yourself a favour and check out the story HERE of three generations of Wilsons (Ray, Tony, 11-year-old Jack and their extended family) sharing a special moment on the hallowed turf of the MCG.
