A while back we flirted with the idea of running an Almanackers’ tour to the UK for the British Open and the Ashes. We didn’t quite gather the required numbers, but Shane from 360 Sports Events has sent through the details for anyone who might be tempted. It’s golf only, but no doubt you could sort out cricket on your own if you were keen. We particularly like that fact you will get the chance to chat with Marcus Fraser whilst he is in the midst of competing in the Open. A couple of rounds at Carnoustie is pretty special too. Below is a little more detail from Shane.
Join Australian golf pros Vaughan Somers and Adam Fraser on the ultimate British Open and Carnoustie Golf tour. The Open Championship returns to St Andrews “The Home of Golf” in July 2015 and you can be there live as the world’s greatest golfers battle for the famous Claret Jug over the Old Course. The tour kicks off in style with accommodation and two rounds of golf at Carnoustie’s Championship course – an Open rotation course. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for golfing enthusiast as you test your game on an Open Championship course and take in all of the thrilling action at St Andrews. Host Vaughan Somers played in multiple British Opens and achieved a top 20 finish in 1986. Other highlights include a private dinner with Australian golfer Marcus Fraser who will be competing in the 2015 British Open.
