Neil Drysdale has been writing some Scottish cricket yarns.
Recently he alerted us to a beaut little film about the remote island of St Kilda, off the north coast of Scotland. It was made by one of his colleagues in Scotland.
All Saints fans should watch this. And what does it tell us?
Not the St Kilda I know, truly beautiful.
Stunning movie.
UNESCO World Heritage status for both natural and cultural value.
like Lenny Hayes.
To never give up on dreams as one day they will come true..even if it is a long time coming…Go Saints..
Stunning. Thanks Neil.
What a fantastic short film. What an amazing place. Can you confirm that the sketch was drawn on Saturday 24 September 1966? Thanks
Gee those drones go alright. Thanks Neil.
A very foggy memory of an article, I read, in The Age many years ago tells me the Melbourne seaside suburb is named after a boat/ship rather than of the Island itself (like many of Melb Town’s inner-city pubs). On of the more evocative names in footy I reckon. Nice film, good to see images of the island finally.

Hi Neil, are you able to email me the link to this article please. JTH suggested I see it and it is no longer linked to this article. My email is [email protected] I am writing a bit about the history of St Kilda and the connection to the Saints, so he thought I might like this.
I didn’t see it up on the site at the time, apologies for missing it.
Thanks
Hi Yvette,
I have a large 2 Volume History of St Kilda( the suburb) to 1930. It was commissioned by St Kilda Council, limited numbers, & very rare now.
Contact me if you wish to peruse them.
