The best crowd of the round was at Lathlain Park on Anzac Day where Perth continued on their winning way against East Perth. Creative midfielder Corey Byrne kicked three goals and was the star in an even effort by the impressive Demons.

The upset was at Claremont Oval where West Coast scored seven goals to two in the first quarter, trailed at three quarter time and rallied to inflict the first loss for the home team. Midfielder Hamish Brayshaw and ruckman Keegan Brooksby were good for the Eagles. Jye Bolton was in Sandover form for the Tigers.

The Fremantle Derby didn’t attract the fans – people think the Sharks are useless. The Bulldogs won by 91 points. Jacob Dragovich was enjoyed a stellar start to the season and maintained his form, Mason Shaw kicked four goals,

Swans opened their account for 2019 against the struggling Falcons at Joondalup. Corey Gault kicked five goals for the winners and Nathan Blakey controlled the ruck. Andrew Strijk kicked four for West Perth.

Subiaco flogged Peel at Leederville and while some of the names have changed things seem to have remained the same for the Lions. Josh Deluca and defender Jordan Lockyer impressed. Ryan Bennell, one of Thunder’s non-Dockers, showed some spark and kicked three goals.

The WAFL combined squad of 31 players has been named for the game against the SANFL at Perth Stadium on Saturday 12 May as a curtain-raiser to the AFL game between Fremantle and Richmond.

Claremont – Jye Bolton, Anton Hamp, Kane Mitchell, Declan Mountford, Bailey Rogers.

East Perth – Jackson Ramsay.

Peel Thunder – Blair Bell, Jackson Merrett, Gerald Ugle.

Perth – Brant Colledge, Corey Byrne.

South Fremantle – Jacob Dragovich, Brock Higgins, Chad Pearson, Haiden Schloithe, Kade Stewart.

Subiaco – Lachlan Delahunty, Josh Deluca, Kyal Horsley, Hayden Kennedy, Leigh Kitchin, Angus Litherland, Jordan Lockyer, Ben Sokol, Rhys Waters.

Swan Districts – Corey Gault, George Hampson, Tony Notte.

West Perth – Aaron Black, Shane Nelson, Andrew Strijk.
