Almanac Poetry: uncle pat has got the covid

I’m not worried I’m not bothered
that uncle pat has got the covid

he’s already had a heart attack
diabetes a dodgy back

last month they said he had a stroke
but I saw him yesty down the tote

He said, mick I’ve tested positive
could you lend me twenty quid?

I’ve made myself a magic pill
got secret stuff no thing can kill

ground down bits of a.u. falcon
mixed with specks of eggs and bacon

If this thing works – my uncle said
I can pay you back before I’m dead

I put a fifty in his hand
a soft touch for an ideas man

  1. Love it, Pards

  2. Thanks Smokie. I’m not sure he really had it. He’s alright now though.
