The red and white home of Swan for life Jan Courtin

Our very own regular Almanacker Jan Courtin has had a fantastic opportunity to showcase her love of the Sydney Swans recently.

“Earlier this year the Swans phoned me, saying that one of their sponsors, REAL ESTATE.COM.AU wanted to interview a Swans fan whose house was full of red and white. Of course I told them that my house was full of art, not red and white, but I did have a red and white wall…! ‘Good, I’ll ask them to get in touch with you’ was the reply.”

“So, in March, three of their employees flew up to Sydney from Melbourne for the interview and filming for this new series they were creating, under the banner of “Fanatics”. The producer, cameraman and photographer all arrived and they spent nearly nine hours with me – all for a 2:15 film and a written story!”

This is the end result. A brilliant video of Jan showcasing her Swans memorabilia.

Jan’s book, My Lifelong Love Affair with the Swans, which was launched at the Sydney Swans in August 2016, can be purchased via her website www.myswansloveaffair.com or in Melbourne from Readings, Carlton; Dymocks, Collins Street; and Fairfield Books, Fairfield. And in Sydney from Dymocks, George Street; and Glebe Books, Glebe.
