Terrible news

I am deeply saddened to bring you the awful news that Jenny Barnstable, mother of Josh, and wife of Terry, collapsed and died last week. She was just 50. This is a shocking tragedy and comes not long after the death of their daughter Hayley.

The Barnstable Family are great friends of the Almanac, and very much part of the Almanac community. Josh, who has been busy with his tertiary studies recently, has been a fantastic contributor over the years. We have watched him grow from a Grade 9 kid ready to write into the wonderful young man he is now. We got to know Jenny and Terry on their many trips to Melbourne, often to see North Melbourne play, or to join in the festivities at our book launches. Jenny was always so effervescent and full of hope for Josh. She was so proud of him, and had every right to be.

Josh and Terry (and Kyle), we are thinking of you at this time. And of Jenny.

The memorial gathering takes place in Numurkah TODAY (Thursday).

From the Herald Sun:

A Service in Celebration of the life of Mrs Jennifer Anne ‘Jenny’ Barnstable will be held at the Numurkah Town Hall, cnr Melville and Knox Sts, Numurkah, TOMORROW (Thursday Oct. 8, 2015) commencing at 11.00 a. m. Then for Interment in the Numurkah Lawn Cemetery. As Jenny would like, please wear ‘bright’ clothing.

This tribute from Terry was also published:
