Almanackers will feature prominently at this Sunday’s performance of Stereo Stories Live at the Newport Bowls Club.
Stereo Stories Live combines music and spoken-word: writers reading stories inspired by songs, backed by The Stereo Stories Band.
Rick Kane will be making his Stereo Stories debut with a story about a contentious song from 1982. Nick Gadd will be recalling love in Italy in 1990, via a jazz standard from 1943. Accompanied by her father on piano accordion, Lucia Nardo will be telling a touching story of devotion – to music and to family.
The writers also include Brian Nankervis (RocKwiz), Ian Carpenter, Stephen Andrew and Zoe Krupka.
The event will be hosted by Vin Maskell (founding editor of Stereo Stories and an Almanac stalwart).
