Round 9 – Haiku Bob: like my life
no goal for an hour
losing the thread
of our conversation
we look good
for a quarter
just like my life
late autumn —
the different colours of the teams
beating us
day almost done —
Collingwood players not finished
doing nothing
nightfall —
after falling to another defeat
I fall into bed
face-mask restrictions eased —
the coach
on everyone’s lips

About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

All those colours, Rob, are there any that haven’t combined yet to give us a shellacking? Love the truncated conversation haiku too.
Still, Go Pies,
Bill
Thanks Bill.
I believe the brown and gold are still waiting in line…
Hopefully they’ll leave their coach behind.
Cheers,
HB.
On and off the field,
We all need to Do Better
and to Think Better …
