Anzac Day ~
I go along expecting
the worst
autumn drizzle ~
slowly the stadium
fills
a muffled roar
ends the minute
of silence
lost in thought
after the Last Post
players already
in their positions
steady drizzle
diving in
for every tackle
wet afternoon ~
youngsters making
a splash
low cloud ~
a drop punt goes as far
as the sky
but
through the gloom
Swanny!
almost dark ~
somehow we find a way
to win
