Round 21 – Haiku Bob: cooling pies

first magnolias
the bad news
can wait

cooling pies saving ourselves for later

late season slump
the pick-up pills
not working

cold snap
the sudden fragility
of our defence

Hawks smashing us . . .
trying to distance myself
from my old self

night chill —
next to the injured player
another injured player

hobbling
to the exit
I’m an old man now

Comments

  1. Excellent HB. My view was a little more upbeat. Carn the Hawks!

  2. Ian Hauser says

  3. ‘trying to distance myself / from my old self”
