Round 2 – Haiku Bob: armchair ride

autumn sunshine
the promise of a win
at home

lingering summer
Pendlebury goes on
and on

in iso—
tending to the veggie garden
between goals

scudding clouds
the midfield spreads and runs
towards goal

at home on the couch
getting an armchair ride
from the umps

another four points
in the bag
autumn dusk

one thousand goals—
one by one the spectators
resume their seats
