last days of winter ~
the veteran forward
tears a calf

decision time ~
Eagles moving
in waves

a chill
in the shadows ~
they sneak a goal

winter chill ~
the breath
of the high-flyers

how well we play
until we shoot
for goal

crisp evening ~
they answer our goal
without hesitation

spark and sizzle ~
our latest comeback
fails again
