Round 15 – Haiku Bob: for the hell of it
winter solstice
a Daicos goal
lights it up
barely longer
than a magpie’s song
St.Kilda’s lead
seasons repeat
another Daicos
miracle goal
the domed stadium
becomes a cathedral
“Coll-ing-wood!”
solstice
trying to work out
which Daicos is better
two in a minute the snap of a beer can
game over
a banana
for the hell of it

About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

Banana and beer
ripe for tongue slips and laughter
taste like victory
Evergreen comment here, Haiku Bob:
I love these. I love what you convey with thoughtful and precisely placed words. Play on.
Cheers, ER.
HB, some teams are kicking bananas for the hell of it.
Others just keep slipping on one infinite banana peel.
