Round 12 – Haiku Bob: raking leaves

autumn colours
the blushes
of Hawthorn supporters

crisp autumn night
the acoustics
of the grandstand

raking leaves . . .
Elliot’s goals
pile up

the leaf
that won’t fall . . .
Bobby clings to one

crescent moon
how thin
Hawthorn’s resistance

celebrating the win
as if I have
achieved something

beating Hawthorn
the news
can wait

  1. Rick Kane says

Excellent HB, even if it does come at my team’s cost. Wouldn’t say we were blushing so much as sore from having our jaw drop every time Elliot got near the ball. Loved the crescent moon stanza. Onya

  2. Matt Gately says

    Raking kicks
    Sicily still
    under the heel

  3. Frank Taylor says

    Superb HB
    Simply superb.
