Round 10 – Sal’s Preview: Seems Like Only Yesterday
Greetings All,
At least this AFL season keeps us in touch regularly!
We Have a Problem ($1.43) vs Billy Boiled ($3.25)
One of the great changes for Port Adelaide has been the addition of Dan Houston to their midfield, unassuming in nature he just accumulates possession and delivers effectively. He just adds to many problems opposition coaches have planning against the pacesetters. Bevo though has removed one of his problems with Billy Gowers making too many errors and feeling the selectors wrath. This game is a beauty to kick off the week. The Dogs will be keen to rebound after their poor showing – the four day break giving them a chance to put it behind them quickly. Up against Port and on their deck makes it a challenge. Just think across the board Port have the answers to any question the Bulldogs can raise. The Dogs real challenges remain up forward where Josh Bruce needs another key forward to provide another target.
Eat My Dusty ($2.06) vs O My ($1.91)
It’s a Tuesday Night Blockbuster with the premiers taking a team that really wants to challenge. Even tougher to get an idea of the teams with no real updates on the injury lists but perhaps that doesn’t matter for the Tigers who despite being undermanned simply enforced their style on the Bulldogs and never gave them a sniff. Brisbane have more dynamics up forward but if the Tiger defense controls the game and Dusty sparkles it is hard to see how they can win. A bright light from the injuries has been the development of McInerny as a ruckman which will benefit the club in the long term. Critical for Brisbane to get control in the middle to have a chance. The key factor that swings this the Tigers way though is the six day break compared the Lions four – reckon this will be a factor through the current footy frenzy.
Till Wednesday,
Stay safe, enjoy the footy,
Cheers, Sal
