CEO AFL

Applicant must have excellent outsourcing and divestment skills. The capacity to ignore public sentiment is also an advantage. Ideally the successful applicant will have a keen interest in attending AFL matches and match day functions and preferably had experience as an average half back flanker. There will also be a requirement to attend occasional events out of business hours, such a presentation dinners, for which the successful applicant will be remunerated.

The AFL is a dynamic and expanding business which will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to travel extensively for which the successful applicant will be remunerated.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for the following areas:

• To control of football operations (Actual day to day duties outsourced to other AFL employees and administrative support workers)
• To oversee the development of the AFL Competition (Actual day to day duties outsourced to other AFL employee and administrative support workers)
• To oversees the laws of the game and ensure the integrity of the AFL Competition is main at all times (Additional monitoring and logistical support by the print and television media and 17 yr old girls with camera phones)
• To ensure that administration of games day incidents are referred to the appropriate match review and tribunal panels (Additional monitoring and logistical support by the print and television media under the specific guidance of Mr Edward McQuire QC
• Negotiate TV deal (Does the deal itself. Give Kerry of Jimmy P. a call to arrange for the cheques)
• Negotiate Competition sponsorship deals (Does the deal itself. Give CUB and Toyota a call to arrange for the cheques to be sent. NAB will swing for the pre season)
• The successful applicant may be required to attend promotional press conferences where said cheques will be handed over, preferably really big ones that come up better on television, for which the successful applicant will be remunerated and supplied with appropriate free sponsor’s merchandise.
• To liaise and communicate with all media outlets on the day to day running to the AFL Competition. The applicant will have the discretion as to when and where he chooses to hold such communication and the nature of what information is released. The AFL preferred mode of communication is silence.
• Ignore the ongoing plight of Clubs the successful applicant may or may not have played with.
• Go to the footy a lot and never put your hand in your pocket

Remuneration: The salary is commensurate with similar position of similar nature such as bank CEO, oil sheiks and iron ore miners $2.2 million plus out of pocket expenses (which will never happen, we promise)
