After a fairly boring day to say the least, which started with tennis in the morning, I eagerly awaited 4.40pm. It finally came, and I opened up Realplayer on my laptop and started listening to the coverage of Adelaide v Port Adelaide by SEN radio. The Power ran away with the match in the second half and we had our first real surprise of the NAB Cup. But Hawthorn and Richmond awaited, I hope to see an exciting match and a surprising result, but I couldn’t see it happening for the Tigers.
The Hawks ran out in their clash strip, while the Tigers looked striking in their black number, which they only wear in the NAB Cup, please explain. Dustin Martin looked fit and ripped and I eagerly awaited to see if this kid can play.
The first quarter began and Franklin was imposing for Alex Rance with the first two goals of the game from marks. David Astbury kicked a nice goal from 20m out, and looks a likely type. Franklin bobbed up again and kicked his third, followed by goals to Luke Hodge, Xavier Ellis after smothering a kick and snapping a goal from a tight angle, Jarryd Roughead and Garry Moss after Roughead unselfishly but dangerously kicked the ball back into play from the boundary line, but Moss capitalized. The Hawks had opened up a handy 38-point lead at quarter time, 0.7.3 (45) to 0.1.1 (7).
The second quarter began with a super goal to Luke Breust after a 50m penalty. Franklin kicked his fourth, but Jack Riewoldt answered with a good goal. Sam Mitchell kicked a super goal after another 50m penalty, and goals from Matt Suckling and Jordan Lisle saw the Hawks out to a very handy lead of 72 points at half time, and things were only getting worse for Richmond. Tough youngster Ben Nason’s leg awkwardly gripped with the turf as he was running and looked to rip his ACL, but the signs after the match were good. At half time, the Hawks led 2.10.7 (85) to 0.2.1 (13).
The third quarter saw Liam Shiels goal after a free kick, but Tom Hislop replied with a good goal after a bad turnover by Ryan Schoenmakers in the goalsquare. Franklin marked on the boundary line and from 45m out, split the middle with a perfect kick for his fifth. Hodge and Mitchell kicked quick goals followed by a long bomb off a standing start from Roughead saw the umpire signal nine points. Graham Polak kicked a good goal late in the quarter, but Roughead took advantage of a poor Richmond backline to take an uncontested mark and kick his third goal of the match, giving the Hawks a 102-point lead going into the last break.
The final quarter saw Riewoldt kick the first two goals before Schoenmakers kicked a rare goal, taking the margin back out to 97 points. The Tigers replied strongly with back-to-back goals through Robin Nahas, followed by a good mark to Mitch Morton over brother Jarryd. As M. Morton came into kick, J. Morton shouted obscenities at his older brother, much to the delight and laughter of the crowd and viewers at home. Mitch kicked a goal by the way, and it would be the last goal of the game, the Hawks winning by 73 points, 3.16.12 (135) to 0.9.8 (62).
First thing that comes to mind when I think of tonight’s performance: Wow. Hawthorn really impressed me tonight with their skill, cluster and defence. I had to keep in mind that they were playing Richmond, but if the Indigenous likes of Cyril Rioli, Shaun Burgoyne and Josh Gibson were playing tonight, I would predict the margin would have been a lot bigger. As for the Tigers, Martin was impressive with 26 disposals, Nason was good before his knee injury and Astbury looks like he’ll get some opportunities in the forward line this year. Danny Connors would be pleased with his efforts, 25 possessions and nine marks, while Robbie Nahas showed some signs that he won’t be suffering from any second-season blues. But the likes of Mitchell, Hodge, Jordan Lewis and Brad Sewell, who combined for a total of 116 possessions, were far too good. But the Tigers showed they have turned a new leaf, under Wallace they most likely would have rolled over and died, but to their credit they stuck at it and were rewarded with a five goal to one final term. Maybe Hardwick really can take this team somwhere.
Hawthorn 0.7.3—2.10.7—3.15.11—3.16.12 (135)
Richmond 0.1.1—0.2.1—0.4.2—0.9.8 (62)

lol imagine what i would say if he did put him on the phone.
Imagine if the first person who answered said “Hello, Jonathan Ralph speaking” haha
$15? That sucks, we can get the same thing for free, our local newsagent is more generous.
12 month home delivery for $400? That’s only a bit over a dollar a day!

Lettuce is alright, although for two weeks in a row i’ve had to sweep the mushrooms under the carpet, i can’t stand them. So far the teacher hasn’t noticed.
22: Yuk! Lettuce! Mayo! Eurgh! Although the chicken isn’t too bad.
……23 what and ewwwwwwwwww

My favourite song was released in 1983.
24- lol yeah deff cant marry you adam!
that only thing i can cook. lmaoo
I can tolerate lettuce to an extent if it’s mixed in with a bunch of other things, like in a burger or something, but I can’t stand mayo anywhere.
26- 1983????????
Yep, 9 years before we were born. Hawthorn won their 5th premiership that year.
25: Hmm?
26: What song Adam?
Iron Maiden – The Trooper

Everyone get their little black book today?
Intresting to see Andrew Lovett charged today so I doubt his career at the Saints will continue.
I can’t believe none of you guys like the Foo Fighters!
43: I do Damo, Wheels and The Pretender are my favourite songs by them, and Times Like These makes me sad for some reason.
my favourite song is the Melbourne theme song, no joke.
Thanks for that link Danni, I still cant believe that Jurrah signed my jumper
42- Not everyone
45- the part about the theme song..thats a problem…
did he sign it while u were wearing it?
you guys need to learn to dance like NLT in water
46: That’s just racist Steve.
I’ve got the Melbourne theme song, the Bulldogs theme, Freo theme and the Power theme in my iTunes.
How can your club’s theme song not be your favourite song? It’s obviously the song that makes you the happiest, gives you the most joy, and the one you know the best.
Yeah, he did Danni. He’s so nice to the fans, even though he’s a bit shy. He spent ages on the field after the game signing autographs
if you guys have not see the
‘can i have you number?’ thing on youtube u better now cos its so funny and steve u should watch it especailly lmaoo
ill grab the link
49- lmaoo well i remember when Cameron cloke signed my t-shirt he touched my shoulder and i thought i was going to pass out

Liam Jurrah’s signature is awesome, Wonaeamirri’s is really funny, it looks like this:
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ 33
I hope my piece gets put up
STEVE watch this and rofl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRbkkqZikx4
LOL, i can imagine Jurrah doing something like that
hahahaha thats hillarious
‘excuse me can i talk to you for a minute?”
lmaoo ;)
Lol i like his eyes when he’s asking for her number lol.
Yeah It’d be Jurrah with Danni
lmaoo
its soo funny
when hes like
‘DONT BE INSECURE GIRL! U WORK THAT UPDO!”
Bahahaahahahahaha
“Thats a french ass name Ivvone!!”
my liitle brie,
I need to make a plea to the editors for Jurrah to be on this year’s Almanac cover
No, the cover of the Footy Almanac 2010 will be Ben Cunnington or Jack Ziebell.
Joel Selwood.
Chris Judd should be on the cover lol.
What show was that clip off Danni?
There would be no better fit for the Almanac cover this year than Jurrah
No Josh, one of those hasn’t played yet and the other impressed but broke their leg
i dont know…but its hilarious
Josh u better show it to Hayley when u see her next lmaoo
They wont pick Selwood cos they already put Chapman on the 07 cover.
Judd’s too boring, if anything they should’ve had Judd on the 08 one
Jonathan Brown.
No, Liam jurrah, and ill draw the picture
One impressed and broke his leg? Ziebell was more impressing than Jurrah last year Stephen.
adam say something funny!!
you’ve gotta be joking, Ziebell didn’t capture the imaginations of thousands of people. Did Ziebell kick goals on his back? no. Did Ziebell even attempt a high flying mark? no. You’re just being completely biased Joshua
73: I think I’m the only one here who isn’t being biased
72: I can’t just say something funny at will, I need something to comment about thats funny
I’m being completely biased!?? Screw you Healy
Did Jurrah win a Rising Star Nomination? No, because he’s too old. Ziebell is only 18, and he was diving into contests, winning the hard ball and feeding it out to the likes of Harvey, Rawlings and Swallow.
74: Jarrad Oakley Nicholls, Jordan McMahon, Jake King, Jayson Laycock, Simon Taylor..does that help Adam?
Footnote: Most of those hacks have names starting with ‘J’…
Ziebell was a revelation but you have to admire Jurrah’s transition from a town which was fairly isolated with grounds consisting of sand and dust into the big league, his skills were phenomonal.
76: You forgot Tom Hislop, Kepler Bradley, Simon Taylor, Xavier and Raph Clarke, Mark Blake, Alan Toovey, Simon Taylor…
Josh, Jurrah and Ziebell are different players, but at the end of the day, Jurrah’s going to get more bodies in the crowd.
I wouldnt call Taylor a hack
79: Taylor’s quite a useful tap ruckman, but nobody in the AFL concedes more frees against, and Taylor just comes across as being really unintelligent and brutish.
I would, and he’s a dirty player.
Kepler isn’t that bad.
yeah, he’s a good tap ruckman, thats what he’s in the team for, so you cant compare him to the likes of Oakley-Nicholls, Hislop, McMahon and Laycock
kepler Bradley’s improved, he had a quite good 2009
Hislop is a good player too.
He’s no Hamish McIntosh though.
I’m saying this because at the beginning of last season in Supercoach, Kepler was $366,000. Hamish was $27,000 cheaper than Kepler. While every Supercoach with half a brain went for Hamish and reaped the benefits, Kevin Sheedy, with his outrageous love of certain players like Kepler (and Courtney Johns), went with his heart and not his head.
he couldnt hit the side of a barn
86: You sayin he couldn’t hit the side of ME?
85: I’ve got a tough decision to make after reading my Black Book today. Do i trade out Big H for Dean Cox or not?
78- Toovey?
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA lmao about time Adam
I haven’t even read the little black book yet. I wouldn’t recommend Dean Cox this year.
I’m looking forward to driving past Dani’s school tomorrow. (in a bus)
85: That’s just racist Josh
89: No offence Danni, but your school didn’t impress me at all. I would say my school has better facilities than yours, but i only saw it from the front.
Just looked on Ben Nason’s Facebook to see if he replied to any of those concerned fans. He didn’t.
I also looked on Adam Thomson’s page since he got a bad knock on the weekend, no one showed any worry for him though lol.
91- lol its much nicer inside
I’m concerned about Adam Thomson, I don’t think he’s that bad.
Matt White has regressed in the past couple of years though.
I don’t think I’ve ever gone past your school Danni, I dont like to venture through weedy suburbs like Coburg, haha only joking
I’ve never been past De La Salle, I bet that has ace facilities.
The only time I’ve ever been to Coburg is when we try to reach the Hume Highway on the way to Sydney of Canberra, until they built that bypass.
I have school photos tomorrow!
Sorry that should say Sydney or Canberra.
Hmm our facilities are all right, I wouldn’t say ace compared to some other schools in the area
97- rofl nawwwwwwwww Damo!!!
(steve dont u dare start with the pizza)
Damo, do you travel alot? Cos it seems like you’ve been everywhere
Looking on Jack Riewoldt’s facebook, interesting..Angus Graham makes some pretty harsh remarks about Raines and Brown.
The fab 5 are like a a pizza with five equal slives, we’re all equal
He’s from Tasmania Josh, they both are actually
Well I’ve been to every state or territory in Australia except WA.
I haven’t been overseas yet, until I go to Fiji in June, which means I’m going to miss a couple of weeks of footy!
I sitll haven’t been to Waaia yet though!
steve I can tell u our lockers are huge compared to yours according to my cousin that goes to ur school.
damo, im comming with you!
I’ve been to every capital city except Darwin, Perth and Hobart.
Steve, the Fab 5 is dead. :|
106: Come to Waaia on your way to Fiji!
109- rofl
Hey, does anyone agree with me that Angus Graham will be the poster-boy for the AFL in a couple of years?
Thats a shame Damo, hopefully you can get on the internet there.
I’d say we’re the Fab 6 at the moment
Sensational 6 featuring Jeff and Dom.
111-…hell no
111- probably not
nawww Danni I wish you could lol.
lol I must go to Waaia someday, it’ll be on my things to do before I die list.
Port Arthur was much better and scarier than Hobart.
115- nawww i know!!
we would have so much fun!!
traveling buddy!!! :)
lol
We should all take photos of our schools.
What’s that about Angus’s comments on Raines and Brown? I’m interested Josh.
I’m sure Waaia will be having a big function that may drag you towards there. Last year they had Kerry O’Keefe, the year before Anthony Stevens, Denis Pagan and Glenn Archer..
Hang on Josh, I think I found the comment you’re referring to.
Oh yeah that reminds me, Adam a match will be played this weekend I think at Eltham with Glenn Archer and Adam Simpson on opposing sides.
lol Kerry O’Keefe has the best laugh, not sure if I want to meet Denis Pagan though.
Yeah Damo I read about that, anyone else going? Barney?
How about you two travel to Waaia? Haha
117: This was the conversation:
Adam Pattison: raines would have backed u up shedwards he goes to war, poor bloke has gone to war with injury this year and has fought a losing battle, but not once has he turned up his toes and chucked it in, bloody great lesson to all of us i reckon
Angus Graham: all us young blokes stick together unlike raines and brown who think their 2 good 2 hang with any of us young fellas……earth has gravity so if u want to rate and be swords go 2 the moon where u might fit in more.
He’s probably only joking around but yeah..
I seriously thought Danni would diieee at Graham’s pics.
is DEAN gonna be there???????
:)
122- nope..hell nope
Dean is at Port Adelaide no Danni, to see him you have to blend in with the wharfies lol.
I’ve heard Angus is a bit of a metro in terms of the way he dresses.
metro….so he dresses nice but hes not hot.
…yeah i know… :(
i hope he takes over at port.
DEAN <3 :)
126: Whaaa?
Nah i’m not going to that thing..
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5b/WaaiaFootballGround.JPG
If anyone’s interested, that’s the Waaia footy ground. Like 3km from my house, i’ve kicked quite a few goals from that end.
I still cnt believe how much Adam looks like Pendles!! Its so cute :)
*squeals*
Josh who is that stand named after?
Looks like a pretty good ground Josh, even though ive seen it on google maps before
131: I don’t think it has a name Damo, i guess you could call it the ‘Old blokes stand around a fire drinking beer and watching the footy’ stand.
But it says Bob something stand
Bob Bow….Stand
lmaoo stalker bob.
Josh if u still have candy on facebook leave her a message saying
‘Hello stalker bob”
lol
Yeah thats what I noticed but the last name is obscured cause of the goal post.
136: …Why?
lol cos she wants to get that on her year 12 jumper. lmaoo
Bob Du.. (Cut off by goal post) stand
137: Hmm, trying to think of a Bob that’s famous with Waaia. I’ll ask Dad tomorrow. Should be renamed the Barnstable stand :)
its funny how a barrel is leaning against the fence behind the goals lol
You already have a shrine at your school Josh, what else do you want? lol
143- naww Damo AHHAHAHA
I’m suprised that there isnt an Anthony Stevens stand
You’ve probably been to that ground umpteen times and you never noticed the name on the stand?
What sort of a name is Candy? Who would name their daughter after an American word for lollies?
Bob Ducat!
yeah Candy is such a weird name, its funny cos shes also got a realyl weird surname (not saying thats a bad thing)
142: That’s a bin Steve.
143: Hahaha.
148: Everyone has a strange last name…lookin at you Danni..
lol well Adam we have 2 Candys at my school so its common!
148: Imagine if her name was Candy Kane…
lol Josh ur surname is the bomb!
152- thats YEAR 7 joke old! lmaoo
Everyone ALWAYS misspells my last name – i have a basketball trophy with my name engraved on it “ADAM BULLMAN” and in the school magazine last year I was Adam Bullmana.
152: Hahaha.
Danni’s lebanese, of course she’s gonna have a non-english name
155: I’m gonna call you Bull Man.
My last name is always mispelt “Healey”
The surname Barnstable would never suit someone living in the city. Although there’s a family 2 houses away from me called Barns, and they would have dinner at the Barns Table.
155- lmaoooo naww poor Pendles!
157- true that Steve.
but then again, thats a surname too, Rhys Healey is proof
160-hahaha
Were your parents born in Lebanon Danni, or were you born there too? Is Eid an unusual name here, or is it like Smith is here?
159: Rhys Healey?
How can you not know who Rhys Healey is!
165: See 162
164: Smith is pretty uncommon in footy these days. Jesse Smith and Josh Smith are the only Smith’s in AFL i think.
Steve some people here might not know who Rhys Healey is. I’m sure most people don’t know who David Gourdis is.
166: No i started typing that comment, then forgot to send it while i was looking at FB and by the time i sent it that joke had already been established.
Speaking of unusual surnames, Dale Begg-Smith won a silver medal today! which is good considering it is the Winter Olympics and you basically have to pull off a Bradbury to win a Gold medal.
164-
dad born there
mum born here
me born here.
:)
According to Gigs’ stats section in the 2008 Almanac, a player called Smith has played in every VFL/AFL season since 1897.
Oh sorry Josh if I misinterpreted whatyou were saying
David Gourdis is too overrated, many Richmond fans have said he is the next big thing for the Tigers’ backline, and after Saturday’s performance i can’t see him getting a spot with Luke McGuane and Kel Moore.
travis cloke
I thought David Gourdis went ok
..is crap.
Anyway cya guys, I’m off.
cya Daymo
175: Many Richmond fans say HE’S GOING TO BE THE NEXT BIG THING for the Tiger’s backline after a 73 point loss? Bloody hell, thats a bit optimistic! How many is “many Richmond fans”? One complete idiot on SFF? Gourdis was probably one of Richmond’s better players, but I think he’s more of a forward than a defender.
lol steve wanna hear something cool?
i wanna have my 21st b’day on a big boat!!
181: No, i’ve read in profiles of him that he is expected to take the roll of a key-position spot in the backline, and he’s been on the list since 2007 is it?
Invite Jack Anthony, and it might be a remake of Titanic Danni, lol.
No he was taken in the 2008 pre-season draft, he was on the senior list, then the rookie list in 2009 and is still a rookie now.
Alright, whatever. Can you tell me who Warren Benjamin is?
I still cant believe Richmond got rid of Silvester!
184 – :( “JACKKKKKK JACKKKKKKK”
Will that boat be a birthday present for you Danni?
186: Warren Benjamin is an Aboriginal player on your list, looks absolutely nothing like Benjamin Warren.
187: Silvester was an Atticusing hack!
no he wasn’t he played a few good games in your backline
I thought Silvester showed promise.
Was talking to Michael earlier, he said he can’t help us with his AFL membership cards for getting better priced tickets and what not, so yeah it’ll be standard cost for Sunday.
189- LMAOO NO! what would i do with a massive boat. im not talking about a small one..im talking a big boat with a dancefloor and food and stuff. lmaoo
ROFL- ATTICUS, ATTICUS!
Are you having a laugh Steve? He was slow, couldn’t kick, looked lost whenever he had the ball and was only a good player against Coburg standard forwards.
195- ben Reid any one?
What is so funny about Atticus, Atticus? I read up to Chapter 3 today in English and so far haven’t found anything amusing.
197- its in the movie
We’re watchin that tomorrow! :|
It’s just a funny name. It also sounds like a Harry Potter spell designed to teleport you into the upper room of your house that’s filled with old junk.
200- ROFLMAOOO HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA
hahahhahahahhahahahah!!!!!!!
breathes
hahhahahahahahha!!!
hahahahhahaha
ohh goshh…
Adam..hahha CLASSIC! :)
NICE ONE PENDLES
“Atticus! Atticus!” *pop* “Why the hell am I up here?”
202-HAHHAHAHAHHAHAAH lmaooo hahhaha
please..stopp…it hurts!! lmaooooo
Anyway guys, I’m off now. Glad I made you laugh Danni, it’s what I do best, or as some say, it’s what I do worst. But they’re idiots. Cyas!
lol adam :)
im with ya, i have had business hw staring me in the face for the last 3 hours and i have a double lesson 2mro…
Cya guys.
:)
