Jordan Lewis Milestone
Jordan Lewis
hundred games in thirteen years
no wonder he has the respect of his peers
I’m talking about one of Warrnambool’s sons
Jordan Lewis is one of the AFL’s guns
At the Hawks he was part of a great dynasty
Four premiership pennants are their legacy
Since he was drafted in twenty 05
he has played every game like he’s in over-drive
Best first year player, a fairest and best
an All Australian – and a serial pest
(according to both his teammates and rivals)
and a determination to ensure his survival
Imagine a career where a footballer claims
an average each year of 23 games
and then there’s the distances covered in training
running and kicking and in-the-gym straining
Lewi has averaged 12 kicks a game
that’s thirty-six hundred – a mighty fine claim
sixteen hundred marks and three thousand hand passes
and his 800 tackles have put rivals on their arses
The rebuilding Demons could obviously see
the worth in recruiting the experienced Lewi
Jordan Lewis has not left a thing on the park –
in his 300 games he’s set a bench mark
of unyielding endeavour and footballing skill
and now he’s at Melbourne there’s more left in him still
Like the 84 players who’ve achieved it before
reaching 300 games put him in the top draw
Lucy and Freddie have a right to be proud
of their husband and dad who stands out in a crowd.
for it takes quite an effort, of privation and pains
to attain the milestone of 300 games.

Noice one The Rhymer . How we f**ked up and lost Lewis is a blotch on the Hawks very impressive 2000s record.
He is a terrific footballer. A fearless Clarko soldier, a tough nut and a core to our brilliant midfield. 300 games. I tips me lid.
Cheers
Agreed Rick – Great player with plenty left,
