Hi All,
Breaking News – Haiku Bob got married a couple of weeks ago. Being the classy guy he is, he took his bride to Sydney on the weekend to watch the Pies as a sort-of pre-honeymoon, honeymoon. Unfortunately, the champagne footy was played by the Giants. Hopefully it was just a case of newlywed nerves.

Honeymoon –
our small talk fills the gaps
between goals
first quarter –
a whole game’s sweat
under my hat
sun glare –
we listen
to the goals
sun beams –
Giants go end to end
in a flash
waning sun
Collingwood
already dead
for better or for worse
splitting the loss
between us
harbour bridge view
still some things right
in the world

Congrats on the nuptials, HB! A pity the Pies didn’t come to the party.
Congratulations HB! Nice work. Going on a Collingwood away game honeymoon is superb thinking. I like the idea of buying the one-off naming rights to a horse race, so it reads something like
Race 7 (Murray Bridge) 1100 metres, filles and mares: The Happy Anniversary Hot and Patient Wife (insert full name here) Handicap.
Congrats to you both, HB.
Well played.
sharing the up & downs (on & off the sporting field) with a soul mate is certainly one of life’s blessings.
well done on the breaking news…..
