struggling to break through

icy wind
the sculptured bodies
of footy players

 

 

 

solstice
not playing that well
or that bad

 

 

 

dead leaves
clinging stubbornly –
they get a goal back

 

 

 

overcast –
out of the blue
a speccy

 

 

 

tearing wind –
not one but both
hamstrings

 

 

 

how a win
over the arch enemy
absorbs my troubles
