bright sunshine
the brilliance of a goal
on my daughter’s face
swirling leaves
every now and then a player
gets loose
abusing the umpire
my accent
well and truly back
not quite reaching
an unassailable lead
low winter sun
a long trail
of yellow leaves
we find a path to goal
hanging on
to a narrow lead
the light this time of year
the odds
of the full-forward missing
three easy shots
