autumn night
Pendlebury shifts attention
from the cold
wind halves the moon
a perfect pass
intercepted
misdirected kick
the man-mountain
brushed aside
spring sun
dusting the screen
to watch Pendlebury
leaves skip past Didak turns out of trouble
Pendlebury gathers on the wing a leaf falls and floats downstream
branches sway
the ruckmen
lock horns
moon gnaws at clouds
Selwood’s weary boot
bangs it forward
late autumn
entering time-on
nowhere left to hide
About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

G’day HB,
Enjoyed the Pendlebury haiku.
The relativistic effects when he has possession are extraordinary.
too true flynny.
poetry in motion sometimes is our pendles.
however, you probably also noticed that, mathematically speaking, it was darren jolly who put in the best performance of the night, with the following perfect Fibonacci sequence:
0 goals, 1 mark, 1 tackle, 2 opponents, 3 free kicks, 5 kicks, 8 handballs, 13 disposals and 21 effective hit outs.
hb.
HB – he is a beautiful player in a horrible jumper.
Great work as usual.
HB,
Outstanding pick-up.

On the subject of Jolly, I have noted increasing grumpiness in his demeanour – and that was before the anti Neale Daniher rant in yesterday’s paper. Several times on Friday I noted him gesturing his discontent towards team mates when they didn’t kick it to him. He is drifting forward (looking to improve on the 0 goals noted in your excellent observation), but if he doesn’t get the ball, he lets his team mates know of his displeasure.

He certailny was the x factor in the pies Flag. I would not mind betting that they already have another jolly good ruckman in mind for next year with free agency opportunities.
Jamar perhaps?
AF,
He always seems grumpy to me. His spray at Daniher was like any other kid who didn’t get his way. That sort of thing is no good for anyone.
He’s our NEO. Simply the most skillful Collingwood player I’ve seen in over 35 years of following the Pies. Well done HB, captured him beautifully.
