haiku bob: more than daylight

hawks glide
casting shadows
across the ‘G

bright winter sun –
more than daylight
between the two teams

static forward line winter stillness

ice cold hands
even in the sunshine –
the slumping star

for a moment
but Rioli

heavy defeat looms my life too lacks direction

packed ‘G
again filled
with emptiness

About rob scott

Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

  1. Christ, that’s EXACTLY how I saw it.

I just couldn’t express it so beautifully.

But aren’t lives that lack direction only one win away from being back on track?

  2. haiku bob says

that might be true MOC, but if continually bombing the ball into a dysfunctional and semi-interested forward line results in a win this week, my life will lack something else, enchantment perhaps.

    thanks for your comments.
