haiku bob – bits and pieces

start of autumn
the game plan already
in bits and pieces

lingering summer
the gaping holes
in our defence

first goal in an hour
how much my life
has changed

nothing left of the light…
one by one
magpies fall silent

final quarter
the sound of the ball
slipping through our fingers

some life remains…
the ruckman
slips and falls

last goal
the silence

About rob scott

Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

  1. A desolate Haiku, Bob. Pies will live to fight another day.

  2. Neil Belford says

Stanza 4 Bob – poetic genius. Stands alone, in fact stand alone it might be the best match review of the year. I vote

    nothing left of the light…
    one by one
    magpies fall silent

as the first entry in the 2014 book.

  3. Beautiful Bob
    sorry I enjoyed
    the game so much

  4. Superb….

  5. Luke Reynolds says

    We will get better….

  6. Ian syson says

Where are tha haiku about the submission pricess?

    Line edit
    Parenthetical clauses
    Fall into place

    Where’s Highpoint?
    The queue at officweorks
    A binding process

  7. Phil Dimitriadis says

We’re only in the 3rd year of a 10 year plan HB. Be of good cheer.

  8. haiku bob says

    thesis submitted
    I blow the dust off
    my notebook

will be good to get back to some (real) writing!

10 years is optimistic on that showing.
