Finals Week 1 – Haiku Bob: skip to the end
finals time
drawing first blood
biting my fingernails
into this grey damp evening comes light early goals
half-time
reading my book
wanting to skip to the end
September –
swooping magpies startle a cat
and another cat
bracing myself
against the cold –
Cats claw back
door slam
Pendlebury kicks
the sealer
my friend
whose team lost
says he’s reassessing things
