Finals Week 1 – Haiku Bob: skip to the end

finals time

drawing first blood

biting my fingernails

into this grey damp evening comes light early goals

reading my book

wanting to skip to the end

September –

swooping magpies startle a cat

and another cat

bracing myself

against the cold –

Cats claw back

door slam

Pendlebury kicks

the sealer

my friend

whose team lost

says he’s reassessing things
