Almanac Music – Stereo Stories: Fill the balcony, Almanackers!

Eleven years ago John Harms and I stood in a warm bar on a cold night in North Fitzroy. John was looking to broaden the Almanac, I was looking for a new home for my nascent Stereo Stories website. And so a fruitful partnership was born, with several Almanackers contributing to the music and memoir website and narrating stories at our shows.

This Friday night, 20 June, Stereo Stories will perform its tenth annual concert at the Williamstown Town Hall, as part of the Williamstown Literary Festival. Smokie Dawson has been a key part of most of those shows, not only with his terrific stories, but in drawing quite a few audience numbers.

All 380 ground floor seats for our show have been sold. Tickets are now available for the balcony.

As well as singing along to Smokie’s yarn you’ll hear stories from guest writers Nathan Curnow, Claudia Nankervis, Rijn Collins, Andy Griffiths, and Alice Pung, and band members Gemma Keating and Chris Phillips.

All the stories are backed by our crackajack eight-piece band, which will be weaving in songs by Garland Jeffreys, Sinead O’Connor, Julia Jacklin, Taylor Swift, Kylie, Doris Day, Paul Kelly, Mark Seymour…

Almanackers, we look forward to you filling the balcony!
