Crio’s Q? Finals don’t matter if you’re not involved

Does anyone else struggle with this sentimental rubbish of picking a team for the finals?

My side’s out now so I don’t care. The season is over.

I’m watching EPL, cricket, racing…even NRL (Go Sharkies!)

To some extent I can understand having “less preferred” teams.

Usually this is the side that knocked you out if you made the finals (despised Adelaide Franchise Collective in my case) or, especially if you missed the 8, those that will produce the fewest gloaters at work and weekends – interstaters find this hard to understand as they view Vics as enemy and assume the reciprocal, but many of us know that, say, a Freo win is less tedious than a local rival.

But, essentially, it is meaningless from hereon. Only supporters of the remainders and punters are still committed.

  1. I just love the footy Crio, are there teams I don’t enjoy watching? Absolutely! Are there teams I like to see lose? Absolutely x 2! But I agree there is a limit to this obsession of mine….would I be glued to the TV if Freo were playing Bris in a final? I somewhat doubt it.

One thing that does bother me however, is the possibility that someone with a hairstyle like Nat Fyfe could possibly be a chance to win a Brownlow….with a hairstyle like that he shouldn’t even be eligible for a Medal.

Caulfield fields look average for this time of year…..haven’t looked at Sydney, are they any better?

  2. Yeah they are. Ploughing through them but pretty busy. Pity not a gun meeting as not many other options on Saturday. I’ll watch Chelsea v Arsenal on Saturday night.

  3. There’s the Davis Cup semi finals, the Rugby World Cup commences, not to mention that the Jerilderie Cup is being run today, 19/9. Plenty for sporting fans.

    Glen!

  4. Thanks for the reality check…I’d watch paint dry before Union or Davis Cup.
