Coleman’s Likes & Dislikes: Round 13

Likes:

Close Games!, Swans V Port, Buddy’s last qtr and 70 mtr Bomb, Pav’s running goal (the dude looks like he could play 100 more), Rioli’s butcher roll, Juddy’s comeback, Casboult’s clunk and 2nd qtr, Eddie Bett’s freaky checkside and the Crows helping my tips, scary Cats (suddenly that flogging from the Swans is a distant memory), DOGS AND DEES!!! (Round 13 will be memorable for a couple of classic upsets) Paul Roos, Christian Salem (again… what a cool head for a 1st year player) speaking of 1st year players… Marcus Bontempelli (kicked his 1st goal, got 10 special touches in the 3rd qtr and then got a classic hug from Dad… warm fuzzy’s for all), Liam Jones (the 4 goals were handy but the tackling was the best part and it will get him a game every week if he keeps doing it), Vintage Gia, Bomber Thompson keeping his players in the rooms for 45 mins after the game, me ordering a Number 4 for my Doggies jumper.

Dislikes:

Saints (surely the “irrelevant” tag heads back to Moorabin this week), likewise for the Tiges (they were stiff and showed some heart against Freo but they’ve still only won 3 games), The Bombers (what can you say… they stink), Jonathan Brown smashing his face and possibly playing his last game… But it’s all about the love for round 13, with lots of hope and excitement being restored to bottom sides like Footscray, Melbourne and GWS.

I once played on Marcus Bontempelli when he was at Eltham and I was at Research. As a forward pocket, I kept him to 2 goals.
