BROWNLOW VOTES IN GALLE

The final day at the G saw a brave defence by Mahela J and Angelo M with Mahela equalling DGB’s 29 test centruries and Angelo missing out by 5 playing the same windy woof that caused his demise in the first innings.

Five wickets to Ryan Harris was the best performance in an attack that I still believe lacks fire power.

Australia wins and now go to Kandy full of Willie Wonkers  who believe = I am not so sure.

My Brownlow votes for the game were (changed for a matter of convenience):-

5              The ground staff for a magnificent team effort.  A delight to watch

4              Fiona Copeland for a magnificent and eye catching moment early in the game. Goal of the year with apologies to PD

3              Mr Cricket for , as usual, a team saving effort when he held back the press of the Blue and Golds

2              The curator for preparing a wicket that was very, very crowd pleasing

1              Tamsin – my driver for making sure I got a complete rundown of the day’s play every time I hopped in the tut-tut

And so ends one of the sporting highlights of my life. A magnificent smorgasbord of Sri Lanka culture, tragedy and history all wrapped up at one glorious venue.

I will be back to Galle at the next opportunity, if she who should be obeyed is in my corner.
