Balcony Banter Round 3 – Hawthorn v North Melbourne: Roos remain winless, MCG remains timeless

Almanacker Darren ‘Smokie” Dawson had no trouble finding his sweet spot to view this game. He just wishes he could say the same for his Roos.

But a day at the MCG always has its compensations.

About Darren Dawson

Always North.

  1. Luke Reynolds says

Great work Smokie. Have enjoyed my reserved seats in the Ponsford Stand for Collingwood games and find myself regularly settling in to the same area in the Olympic every time I attend the cricket. Also very much love the walk back to the city along Birrarung Marr, whether back to the car or the train station. Magical.

  2. Can hardly wait for this coming week’s ‘BLOCKBUSTER” – Kangaroos v Crows. After this match one side can be like the late great GUY MITCHELL and be “SINGING THE BLUES”

. For the fans, perhaps PETER SELLERS rendition of “A DROP OF THE HARD STUFF” would be appropriate.

Both tunes can be seen on You Tube if anyone is interested
