Almanac Rugby: No Rest For The Wallabies Ahead Of Ireland Clash
On the 27th of November, the Wallabies take on Ireland in Dublin which will be a tough test. Michael Cheika the Wallabies head coach wants all his players to be back and 100% fit ahead of the clash.
Player Back After Last Been Rested For France Game
Cheika left out of the team’s 23 last week, Sekope Kepu, Michael Hooper, Israel Folau and Dane Haylett-Petty. He also allowed a number of Wallabies players to have light training sessions so they could cope with the workload demands. This will not be happening in Ireland though and he expects them to all train extremely hard before the match kicks off.
Michael Hooper Key To Australia’s Chances Of Winning In Ireland
Key Wallabies player Michael Hooper was rested even though he would have played had he been selected but the coach felt it best to rest him. For the Dublin test though he and the other players rested will all be back in full training. They all started training again with the team last Thursday and will be fully prepared for the game this coming weekend.
Hoopers Unbelievable Stats This Season
Michael Hooper has been a key player this season and had only missed around one-half of the rugby games played this season. He has played almost every minute in the Test and Super Rugby matches played this campaign. If was hard for the player watching the game from the stands but he was pleased that his teammates managed to win 25-23.
No Major Injury Concerns For Wallabies
The only player who is an injury concern for the Wallabies is Cooper but aside from that, there are no other major concerns. Quade Cooper is expected to return to full training after suffering an ankle injury late on against France. Sean McMahon is currently been monitored closely by the medical team as the player played his first match for close to two months of being out. He will undergo a fitness test ahead of the clash before making a decision on his inclusion in the squad for the game.
Ireland Hit By Injury Problems Ahead Of Wallabies Clash
Ireland, on the other hand, has major injury concerns ahead of the Wallabies match. They will be without their star player Jonny Sexton along with Robbie Henshaw who will be badly missed.
Sean O’Brien Key For Ireland Chances
Ireland will be relying on star man Sean O’Brien to cause damage to the Wallabies Grand Slam ambitions. The player is one of the best in the world at breaking down play and his powerful running will cause problems to Australia the who game. If the Aussies are going to be successful they will need to keep him quiet or he will badly damage them.
The Aussies are going to have their hands full in Dublin as Ireland have proved against the All Blacks that they are a formidable force. With Key players back after been rested, and Ireland’s injury problems I think that the Wallabies will be able to come out on top to get the win the need for the Grand Slam dream.
