Picture at an Exhibition: ‘Solo Man’ (homo softdrinkus) c. 1975, Australia

Hairy-chested, moustachioed,
ruggedly handsome, tanned,
he lies naked on a lilo
in a backyard swimming pool,
eyes gazing at the camera,
an animal dumb half-smile,
sizeable snag,
sunlight glinting
off his blonde-haired scrotal sac
…but ladies, he’ll find it absurd
to consider what you want,
sexually or otherwise.
