Almanac Poetry: Haiku Bob – Round 2: the blur

early autumn
the crowd
finds its voice

nature calls
walking into and out of
the sound of the crowd

not
quite
through
the
mark
Elliot
touches
down

half-time
the blur of beer and crowd
‘activations’

100 years on
Sidebottom and Pendlebury
see them off

clear autumn night
the winning goal
drills the grandstands

after it’s all over
the stadium reclaims
its shape
