Almanac Poetry: ‘Changing Gears’ – Geoff Goodfellow

Geoff Goodfellow is a working-class poet who is not ashamed of his humble beginnings growing up in a working-class suburb.  Many of the adversities experienced by him during his formative years were overcome when he discovered the magic of poetry in his mid 20s.

From the school of hard-knocks, he is a loud, boisterous conveyor of the nitty-gritty of life and he tells his story exceedingly well both in poetry and prose.

Although not as widely known as other poets, Goodfellow is gratified by the fact he has sold over forty thousand copies of his books worldwide, far better than many of the  so-called ‘best selling authors’ at many of the literary festivals he attends, he proudly, and cheekily, boasts.
