There’s no doubt, Rodney, Collingwood clearly wanted Hafey out, Erwin was appointed when Collingwood were due to play two of the bottom teams, Saints and Dogs at Victoria Park which they duly won. Difficult to sack a coach after winning the last two.
Not sure what happened to Paul Feltham, who won five of the seven games he coached at the Roos. I do recall at the time there was an intense dislike of him, not sure what the issue was.
Agreed, the Feltham sacking never quite made sense to me. There’s got to be more to it.
Great work again, Rodney. Incredibly informative.
Darren Crocker had the 1999 season with Port Melbourne. They finished the year fifth, with 12 wins.
They lost in the first week of the finals to eventual Grand Finalists North Ballarat, the score being 13-10-88 to 10-12-72.
Glen!
Thanks John & Damian
Think Brisbane had a change ownership in 1990 and apparently Feltham had a falling out with Shane O’Sullivan.
Thanks Glen
